I am from New Albany, MS. I currently attend Base Camp Coding Academy. BCCA is an 11-month program that teaches high school graduates how to not only be computer programmers but also how to network, present themselves professionally, and collaborate well with others. When I graduate from BCCA my hope is to apply my strong work ethic to my career in software development.
Writing software was a completely new experience for me when I joined Base Camp. I feel like I have learned so much, and my classmates have been instrumental in my growth. I really enjoy working on group projects, and I am excited to start my career in this field. One of my favorite things about Base Camp is going to Davidson Elementary in Water Valley, Mississippi to teach a group of 5th graders how to code in an after-school club. Throughout my Base Camp experience I have received valuable feedback on my projects and how I can continue to learn and grow.
